1. Synthesis of Diphenylethane
Add benzene and catalyst AICI3 to the reaction kettle, stir and heat to 60 ℃, then slowly add a mixture of benzene and dichloroethane, heat to 86 ℃ and reflux. After the addition is completed, continue reflux for 2 hours. After no gas is released, cool the reaction solution to room temperature, separate the upper clear liquid, decompose with dilute acid, wash and dry, and collect the 130-132 ℃/1333Pa fraction through vacuum distillation to obtain diphenylethane.
2. Synthesis of Decabromodiphenylethane
Add Br2, catalyst AICI3, and cocatalyst to the reactor, stir evenly, and add molten diphenylethane dropwise within 1 hour. After dripping, stir and reflux at 60 ℃ for 4 hours until no gas is released. Cool to 30 ℃, add H2O, stir, heat and distill to remove unreacted Br2. Wash the remaining solid with 25% NaOH solution three times and filter to obtain a light yellow solid.
3. Aging of Decabromodiphenylethane
Dry the obtained light yellow solid at 110 ℃ for 1 hour, grind, and age at 200-220 ℃ for 4 hours to obtain a white solid product.
